my my my space
well, i have been on myspace for quite a bit and enjoyed it for a long time. my account now is pretty inactive. i guess i just outgrew it. facebook i just joined recently. i do frequent that more but i cant say i like how its set up at all or i cant stop talking about how difficult it is to navigate and understand. i do not find it to be user friendly AT ALL. in that aspect i totally love myspace more. so truely the only reason i go on facebook is to stay in touch with my family because like 90 percent of my "friends" on there are fam. i only have like 40 or so friends...its not like im obsessed and have 150+friends or anything. its just nice to keep in touch with family and see pictures etc since most of them live very far away. if it weren't for the convenience of talking to them i dont think i would be on facebook. i was cohersed into that account just like the myspace one. i do enjoy the instant chat feature on facebook. as far as the library, i cant really see facebook/myspace being used in any practical way except to use it as a webpage but most libraries already have seperate webpages, so that would be kindof redundant.
playing games
i love playing games, but i really dont see how it cold benefit the library. ps-i signed up for that vampire game and it was quite lame, unless i did not figure it out properly but first i couldnt change my avatar because it wouldnt modify it and then all it did in game mode was set a timer for activities i choose like working and what not...i thought it was WAY lame. did i miss something?

foto foto
so i think that flickr and other websites like photobucket are pretty great. i do use photobucket to store pictures, but i also just store them on facebook or myspace since there is plenty of space there and that way it doesnt take up space on my hard drive. like i said earlier i do not need another account, so i like to use the ones i already have for as many purposes as possible. however, i did enjoy looking at the other pictures people have posted and it was a bit inspiring. i havent taken out my camera in a very long time and it crossed my mind that maybe i should start doing that again since i enjoy it alot. thanks flickr! i do not really see how the library would use this though, to shar information with patrons. maybe they could use it as a storage for photos, but i really dont know how else it would be put to use.

wiki wiki...

so, i didnt really understand what wikis were before but now i do. i started my own account on pbwiki and used it for a trip that im taking with some friends quite similar to the example given in the video for the camping trip. i will say i had a bit of a time getting it set up. i wouldnt call it the most user friendly looking device for ones who arent as computer savvy. anyway, i figured out how to make a page but thats about it. i dont really know how i would go about adding graphics or columns or anything fancy like that. i do like the wiki pages though. it is fun to edit with my friends and leave comments and see changes etc. i am enjoying it more than i thought i would.
foto!
so the picture i picked to write about i can't find anymore. i tried coping it but it didnt copy and now its lost. anyway, it was a photo of a bunch of tall flowers shot from the ground up so they looked very tall and the background was the getty museum. it reminded me of palm trees and l.a. and also of some of my favorite flowers which are called alliums.
